The Knights of Columbus have been honored once again as one of the ‘World’s Most Ethical Companies’ by the Ethisphere Institute in the category of Life Insurance. Two organizations featured under the same umbrella are the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company and The Principal Financial Group. The ‘World’s Most Ethical Company’ title celebrates and encourages morally sound, transparent, and cooperative practices at every organizational level as well as overall compliance with standard laws and regulations. Receiving this award two years in a row reinforces the Knights of Columbus’ dedication to helping those in need.
The Ethisphere Institute 2015 list of the world’s most ethical companies includes 132 organizations spanning 21 countries. Over 50 industries have been recognized as global leaders in ethical consideration while consistently promoting sound business practices. Industries are further broken down into a number of categories including apparel, automotive, computer services, and real estate. U.S. companies as a whole received many awards including a great deal of household names like: Gap Inc., Dell Inc., Microsoft, National Grid, and GE just to name a few. Winners have been judged based on six categories: ethics and compliance program, culture of ethics, corporate citizenship and responsibility, governance, and leadership, innovation and reputation.
